[20 May 2025, HONG KONG]
Australian tennis fan favourite Nick Kyrgios will join the all-star line-up for October’s UTS Hong Kong tennis event on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 October at the Kai Tak Arena.
Kyrgios played UTS New York last year and is a huge fan of the innovative, fast-paced and fan-friendly format. He will join his countryman, 2024 UTS Grand Final London champion Alex de Minaur in the eight-man field along with Top 20 player and UTS favourite Andrey Rublev and rising Chinese star Zhang Zhizhen.
They will compete for a total prizemoney purse of $1.1million USD, with the winner taking home at lease $306,000 USD.
Kyrgios is of Asian heritage through his Malaysian mother, Norlaila and he is excited to be part of what will be UTS’s debut event on the continent.
“I’m super excited about being part of UTS Hong Kong,” said Kyrgios. “UTS is such a blast to play in. It’s pretty wild for us and for the fans and I love it. I’m also really proud of my Malaysian heritage and I’ve always loved playing in Asia so to be able to play UTS in a great city like Hong Kong is going to be really, really special.”
Tickets for UTS Hong Kong will go on sale soon with further details about the event and the remaining four players in the line-up set to be revealed in later this summer in Hong Kong.
