As the HKTA 2020 tournament calendar has been severely disrupted by COVID 19 since the beginning of the year, the HKTA Tournament Committee has decided that tournament ranking points earned in 2019 will not “drop off” and will be extended for an additional 52 weeks up to a total of 104 weeks on a rolling basis, for the purpose of determining the best 6 results for the Hong Kong Junior Ranking.
Meaning if the ranking is released on [1st March 2021], the ranking will include ranking points of the best 6 results earned from 1st March 2019 to 28th February 2021, it also means it may include 2 results of the Nissin Hong Kong National Junior in 2020 (which was completed in October 2020) and 2021 (which is scheduled to be completed by [28 February 2021]) if both results happen to be among the best 6 results of the player during the 104-week period.
The Tournament Committee will review the ranking policy timely, and will decide an appropriate time to revert back to a 52-week rolling basis after the tournament schedule has returned to normal tentatively in 2021.
