(Hong Kong, 2 September, 2025) “Chubb UTS Hong Kong 2025 with Humansa” takes place at Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park from 14 to 15 October 2025. A globally acclaimed, innovative tennis event the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) will be making its grand Asian debut in Hong Kong.
Organisers today announced that Czech star Tomas Machac will join the stellar line-up of 8 tennis superstars who will battle for the iconic Zeus trophy in Hong Kong. Machac has enjoyed a stellar year, capturing the UTS Guadalajara title and reaching the Bastide Medical UTS Nîmes final, adding to his achievement as a mixed doubles gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
He is joined by Hong Kong’s very own emerging star Coleman Wong, who recently made history by reaching the third round of the US Open – the first men’s player from the region to reach the tournament’s third round – marking a historic first for a Hong Kong male tennis player in a Grand Slam singles main draw. Currently in exceptional form, he has been granted a wildcard as the event’s featured player and joins the tournament for the first time, facing-off against a world-class tennis line-up, including Andrey Rublev, his opponent from the US Open.
Patrick Mouratoglou, UTS Tour Founder, remarked, “We are delighted to welcome Tomas Machac to our line-up of global tennis stars. Also, while finalizing Hong Kong as host of UTS’ Asian debut, we witnessed a local superstar enjoying incredible form this year. His remarkable recent achievements prompted us to ask—why not extend a special invitation? We are therefore delighted to welcome Coleman Wong, who embodies the future of Hong Kong tennis, as he faces world-class rivals on home ground. Together with his enthusiastic Hong Kong fans, we hope he will enjoy experiencing every second of the speed, passion, and tradition-shattering action that makes the UTS such a special tournament!”
Coleman Wong commented, “Competing in UTS on home court marks a career-defining milestone for me. Having trained in Hong Kong since childhood, every step of my journey has been fueled by local fans’ incredible support. I am looking forward to the home crowd getting behind me. Their enthusiastic backing will be the ace up my sleeve against the world’s top players. I will be giving my all to showcase to the world Hong Kong’s outstanding tennis potential.”

Since its inception in 2020, the UTS has captivated global audiences with its uniquely fast-paced format. Each match is divided into four 8-minute quarters, allowing fans to appreciate the drama of the limited time remaining. The straightforward 1-2-3 scoring system, combined with 15-second serve clocks, sudden death point and one serve instead of two, makes matches more intense and accessible.
UTS emphasizes fan engagement and entertainment, transforming spectators into active participants in the match. Players conduct mid-quarter interviews displayed on giant screens, spectators do not need to keep quiet and can move around the arena and live music and lighting effects create an electrifying atmosphere distinct from traditional tennis events.
The Chubb UTS Hong Kong 2025 with Humansa kicks-off the new ‘Hong Kong Tennis Season”, following the successful hosting of three international men’s and women’s tournaments in the 2024/25 season. In a break from traditional tennis competitions, this revolutionary ‘sportainment’ spectacle, featuring a dynamic format, celebrity players, and electrifying performances, serves as the season’s opening event, offering fans a uniquely different tennis experience. The subsequent international men’s ATP and women’s WTA tournaments form an impressive lineup of events to cement the city’s status as a premier tennis destination.
