H.D. Rumjahn was an outstanding doubles specialist and captured 14 Hong Kong Grass Court Championships, including twelve straight from 1924-1935, with eleven of them the result of his collaboration with his cousin, S.A. Rumjahn. The duo then added two more in 1937 and 1940, while finishing runners-up in 1938 and 1941. Although competing predominantly in doubles, he did experience some success in singles, having reached three consecutive finals from 1936-1938, and lifted his only title in 1937.
