In memory of Dr. Stanley Ho, GBM, Medalha de Honra Grande Lótus (1921-2020)

Hong Kong tennis has suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Dr. Stanley Ho. He was aged 98.

Dr. Ho has been a long-time tennis afficionado, a keen player, and a Life Patron of the Hong Kong Tennis Association.

When Hong Kong hosted the International Tennis Federation’s Annual General Meeting in 1994, then President Brian Tobin presented Dr. Ho with the ITF Award for Services to the Game.  The award exemplifies outstanding contributions to the game of tennis over a long period of time.

He was a passionate competitor and captured numerous Veteran’s Age 50, 55, and 60 doubles titles at the CRC Open.  He teamed with regular doubles partner K.S. Leung to win seven consecutive Combined 150 years & over titles before he hung up his racquet in 2008.

Over the years, Dr. Ho has supported both the Hong Kong Tennis Foundation and HKTA’s  fundraising efforts and  participated in many Pro Am Tennis Challenges.  He was a great supporter of the annual Hong Kong-Macau Interport and a notable presence at most of the international tennis events held in Hong Kong.  He was a generous donor, a compassionate sponsor, someone who was always supportive of the financial needs of HKTA.

Dr. Stanley Ho was a huge part of Hong Kong tennis history and he will be sadly missed.
