Events

The Corporate Patron League consists of three events:

Division 1: The team may include any players. 12

 

Division 2: The team must not include A+ HKTA League graded players, ATP, WTA or ITF ranked players, nor existing team members of provincial/city tennis teams in PRC. 16

 

 

The Corporate Event is open to teams formed/sponsored by any legal entity incorporated or registered in Hong Kong (including HKSAR Government Departments). The Corporate Open Championship Event is open to any legal entity and team comprising 4-8 people.

  • In case of inclement weather, HKTA reserves the right to schedule some matches to other venues, including the HKTA Tennis Centre at Kowloon Tsai.
  • Evening matches will be played under floodlights.
  • In case of inclement weather, 13 May (Saturday) has been reserved as an alternate date at the Hong Kong Victoria Park Tennis Stadium.
  • Entries of the CPL will be accepted on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis. There is a maximum for each event as stated in the table in Section 2.  Each organisation may enter more than one team in either Event subject to the number of entries, and approval of the Committee of the CPL.
  • Each team will field two doubles pairs. Men’s, ladies’ and mixed doubles pairs are acceptable.
  • A minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 10 players can register to form a team. A minimum of 4 registered players (2 doubles pairs) MUST be present for each day of the competition. Therefore, as an example, if a team has registered 8 players, not all 8 registered players must be present for each day. Only registered players can play during the event.
  • No player should represent more than one team in each event. However, a player can represent a team in the Corporate Event and represent another team in the Corporate Championship Open Event. Any player registered for two teams in any of the events, should inform the Committee of the CPL (by email addressed to cpl@tennishk.org) which company he/she will represent not less than 24 hours before the first match of the start of the Otherwise he/she will be assigned to one of the teams registered at the discretion of the Committee of the CPL.
  • The names of any unregistered players must be submitted to the Committee of the CPL (by email addressing to cpl@tennishk.org) for approval not less than 24 hours before the first match of the start of the CPL.
  • Any change in the members of the team must be submitted to the Committee of the CPL (by email addressed to cpl@tennishk.org) for approval not less than 24 hours before the first match of the start of the CPL.

(a) Corporate Event

  1. Team members must be full-time employees of the participating organisation. They must have been employed for a minimum of three months, or the participating organisation is able to provide relevant MPF records documentation for the player. Full-time students, for example university students, are not eligible.
  2. Team members must be aged 18 or above, i.e. they must be born before 1st January 2005.
  3. Teams can include tennis coaches or tennis professionals provided that they are full-time employees of the participating organisation.
  4. It is encouraged that at least one senior manager or director will play on the team. However this is not a requirement.

(b) Corporate Open Championship Event

  1. Team members must be aged 18 or above, i.e. they must be born before 1st January 2005.
  2. For Division 2, team members must NOT be players graded A+ by the HKTA nor existing team members of provincial/city tennis teams in PRC. There is no restriction for players in Division 1.

*If any team members have health issues that may affect their participation in the Tournament, they are advised to consult a doctor before participating and to inform the CPL Committee of any relevant medical condition.
