Overview

The purpose of HKCTA Junior Squad training is to build up a broad base of tennis players and to provide quality coaching to these aspiring youngsters. Training under the Junior Squad also serves as a major channel through which talented individuals are identified and promoted to join training at higher levels. The HKCTA Junior Squad is part of the overall HKCTA Junior Development Programme, which is designed to nurture and benefit thousands of budding tennis players in the territory through a systematic player development pathway comprising the Hong Kong Stars of the Future, Tennis-For-All Training Scheme and Easy Sports Programme, HKCTA Junior Squad, Elite Development, National Squad/Elite, and finally the Hong Kong National Team at the apex. The objective is to provide quality training to players who are selected from the talent identification programmes and to nurture them for further development, helping them realise their maximum potential. HKCTA Junior Squad is divided into 5 groups according to age: Green 2 (Aged 6-8), Green 1 (Aged 6-10), Yellow 2 (Aged 11-14), Yellow 1 (Ages 11-16) and Potential.

With basic tennis skills

Applicants must pass the assessment organised by the HKCTA

Players are required to pass an assessment conducted by the HKCTA coaches. It includes technical, tactical and physical components of the player’s game.

Please contact us for arrangement. Assessment will only be arranged if there are available spots.

Training will be cancelled once the typhoon signal No. 8 or above is hoisted, or after a Black Rainstorm Warning signal is announced. If typhoon signal No. 3 or below is hoisted, please contact the coach-in-charge to check the latest training arrangements.

If the coach decides to go ahead with the training on rainy days, parents/guardians are advised to remain at the courts. In case of the weather condition worsening, and the coach being forced to cancel the lesson, the parents/guardians should pick up their kids immediately. HKCTA shall not be responsible for the safety of any child after the coach has cancelled the lesson.

No refund if a lesson is cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. If courts are available, make up classes will be arranged.

Objective

Junior Squad is part of the overall HKCTA Junior Development Programme, which is designed to nurture and benefit thousands of budding tennis players in the territory through the player development pathway comprising Mini-Tennis, Grassroot Tennis, HKCTA Junior Squad, Elite Development, National Squad/Elite, and finally the Hong Kong National Team at the apex.

The main objective of the Junior Development Programme is to provide quality training to players who are selected from the talent identification programmes and to nurture them for further development, helping them realize their maximum potential.

HK$50 administration fee will be levied for each late application.

Withdrawal Form

Should be sent to the HKCTA at least one month prior to the training session started.
HK$100 administration fee will be levied for each late application.
