HKJC Tennis Rocks was launched in September 2016 as a three-year programme supported by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to promote tennis to individuals of all ages and social statuses.
It consists of four programmes to benefit four targeted social groups: primary school students (Tennis Rocks), students with special educational needs (Special Tennis Rocks), PE teachers (Teach the Teachers Tennis), and retirees & seniors (Senior Tennis Rocks).
- Tennis Rocks
Target to offer free training to 750 primary school students each year from 50 schools in 10 selected districts who are receiving financial assistance from government.
- Teach the Teachers Tennis
Target to offer free Mini Tennis Instructor Course to 100 primary school teachers from participating schools. Aim to equip them with the skills to be able to incorporate tennis skills and activities into their schools’ sports curriculum.
- Senior Tennis Rocks
Target to offer free training to 480 retirees aged 55-68 in LCSD tennis courts. The aim is that through tennis, they can broaden their social circles, keeping themselves fit and active, and ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.
- Special Tennis Rocks
Target to offer training to 40 students in special schools. The aim is to develop their interest in tennis.
10 Districts including North District, Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Shatin, Tuen Mun, Wong Tai Sin, Eastern District, Yuen Long and Islands
