Inter-Primary School Tennis Competition 2006-2007

Subvented by LCSD and organized by the HKTA, the Inter-Primary School Tennis Competition 2006-2007 will commence in January 2007 and divided into four regions – New Territories West (Tsing Yi Park), New Territories East (Tsang Tai Uk Recreation Ground), Kowloon (Tung Chau Street Park Tennis Court) and HK Island (Hong Kong Tennis Centre). Events on offer include Boys' & Girls' Singles for the age groups ranging from U12s to U10s*, and the competition will culminate with the Annual Championships (5-7 April 2007) for the top four finishers of each region.

*Pupils attending Primaries One to Three may also participate in this year's event via the under-10 competitions

As a natural follow-on from the popular Primary School Mini-Tennis Competition already held earlier this year, the Inter-Primary School Tennis Competition 2006-2007, subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and organised by the HKTA, will be held during the months of Janaury and March next year. Play will be divided into four regions. They are:

Kowloon
Date: 13, 14, 20 & 21 January, 2007
Venue: Tung Chau Street Park Tennis Court 通州街公園網球場

Top 4 players in each age group competition will be invited to the Inter-Primary School Annual Championships.

The respective Annual Championship winners will be invited to join HKTA's Junior Development Programme where they will receive structured training. These lucky youngsters will then have the opportunity to develop into potential stars of the future and, hopefully, the chance also to represent the territory in major games and overseas competition in the not too distant future.
