The Hong Kong Tennis Champions Cup 2010

The Hong Kong Tennis Champions Cup in Association with Canon Hong Kong Co., Ltd. will take place from March 13-14 (Saturday-Sunday) at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. While the high octane men's doubles remains as ever the blue riband event, the popular Ladies' Doubles Challenge in addition to the Parent & Child Doubles will continue to compliment this annual tennis extravaganza.

Event Factsheet

Since the inaugural Clearwater Bay Indoor Doubles Classic in 2003, the ever-expanding event has now evolved to become The Hong Kong Tennis Champions Cup.

The field for the HK$120,000 Hong Kong Tennis Champions Cup Men's Doubles consists of sixteen top players from and around Hong Kong, including past and present winners of the three local majors:

• Hong Kong National Tennis Championships 2009
• SCAA Open Championships 2009
• CRC Open 2009

As in previous editions, a round robin format will be adopted with 8 pairs divided into two groups of four initially. The top-2 placed teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals, with the winner of one group facing the 2nd-placed team from the other group, and vice versa, to determine the finalists.

All matches shall be the best of 2 tie-break sets, with a Match Tiebreak (first to 10 points) at one-set all.

While the men's doubles is by invitation only, both the Ladies' Doubles Challenge and the Parent & Child Doubles are open to the public.

The entry fee for the Parent and Child Doubles is $800, which also covers a souvenir pack, food and beverage coupons, transportation and entry tickets to the Cup's main events. The fee for the Ladies' Doubles Challenge is $600/player, and competitions will be held on March 8- 9 & 10-12.

Last year, over HK$170,000 was raised through the event to Haven of Hope Christian Service, while entry fees for the Parent & Child Doubles went to Hong Kong Tennis Association in support of its junior development programme.
