Godry a double winner at HK Open Junior Championships 2008

Final day of the HK Open Junior Championships 2008 saw No. 4 seed Levente Godry of Hungary (ITF 599) become the sixth player since 1993 to capture both boys' singles and doubles titles simultaneously.  The wins also secured his maiden titles on the ITF World Junior Circuit.

The ITF Grade 4 Hong Kong Open Junior Championships 2008 begins tomorrow (Monday, Oct 6) at Victoria Park Tennis Courts.  Hong Kong's Justin To (ITF 425) is seeded third in the boys' singles and he will face Chinese Taipei's Mao Jui (ITF 1860) first up in a round two match tomorrow, as both players have received a bye in the opening round.

Hong Kong has been drawn to face the Philippines in an opening round tie of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas in Asia/Oceania Zone Group II next year, which is being scheduled for the new time slot of March 6-8. The Filipinos were relegated from Group I following a whitewash by Kazakhstan in a Relegation Playoff last weekend in Astana City.
