Following his victory at the US$12,000 Genworth Financial CVITT(2) earlier this summer in North America, Martin Sayer took his fine form across the Atlantic to compete in several open tournaments in England. The HK Davis Cupper managed to capture the 87th Bournemouth Open in Dorset before he was finally halted in the semifinals of the St. George's Hill Open the following week in Surrey.

After an action-packed rookie season that almost saw her complete a sweep of the traditional Pac-10 powerhouses at number one singles, Venise Chan (Washington), along with three other players on the Husky women's tennis team, were honoured by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their academic distinction as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Kelvin Lam returns from Asian 14U Touring Team to Europe

Earlier this summer, Kelvin Lam was a member of the ITF/Asian 14U Team that went on a five-week European Tour involving ETA-sanctioned tournaments spread across France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Other notables that took part in some of these events include Europe's top three-ranked 14U players – Evgeny Karlovskiy (RUS), Julien Cagnina (BEL), and Liam Broady (GBR).

NTS 14U players perform commendably in regional competitions

Earlier this summer, a number of NTS players have been busy crossing swords with other leading juniors in Asia when they took part in Comps 7 & 8 of the China National 14U Championships in Beijing, in addition to the Philippines and Malaysian legs of the ATF 14 & Under Series in Manila and Kuching respectively.
