The sixth-seeded Hong Kong WJT Boys' contingent of Kelvin Lam, Kevin Wong, and Vincent Yau thoroughly dominated the Philippines 3-0 on opening day of the 2008 World Jr Tennis Asia/Oceania Qualifying event held this year at the East Lake Tennis Club in Shenzhen. At the GB1 Asian Closed Jr Tennis Championships held at the Indore Tennis Club in Central India, junior world No. 4 and top-seeded Noppawan Lertcheewakarn extended her personal-best winning streak on the ITF junior circuit to 16 matches when she beat No. 3 seed Jessica Yang, 6-2, 6-0, to win the coveted girls' singles title earlier on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday at the Indore Tennis Club in India, third-seeded Jessica Yang (ITF 37) defeated No. 14 seed Miyabi Inoue (ITF 97) in the semifinals at the GB1 Asian Closed Jr Tennis Championships, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the final where top-seeded world No. 4 Noppawan Lertcheewakarn will await.

At the GB1 Asian Closed Jr Tennis Championships in India, No. 3 seed Jessica Yang (ITF 37) was trailing by a set and 3-5, 0-40 down in the second before she fought off all three match points to register a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, victory over No. 8 seed Alexandra Kolesnichenko (ITF 87) of Uzbekistan to progress to the semifinals.

At the GB1 Asian Closed Jr Tennis Championships held at the Indore Tennis Club in India, No. 14 seed Dino Dell'Orto (ITF 158) defeated local entry Pryank Gangadharan, in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, in the second round earlier on Tuesday to set up a showdown with second-seeded Kittiphong Wachiramanowong of Thailand (ITF 27) for a place in the quarterfinals next up.

At the ITF 14 & Under Asian Jr Championships 2008 - Group 1 in Jakarta, No. 3 seed Kelvin Lam came in third for the second week running after winning the 3rd – 4th place positional playoff against Jeong Yong-Joo of Korea, 6-7(0), 6-2, 6-3. At a wind-chilled G1 Japan Open Jr Championships on Wednesday, Dino Dell'Orto (ITF 178) was attempting to emulate the feats of some of his illustrious predecessors from Hong Kong, as he was gunning for a place in the boys' quarterfinals. However, he ran into a player who had been on fire since the main round started.

In a repeat of the final in Brunei a fortnight ago, Dino Dell'Orto (ITF 178) again defeated Faris Akhazzan of Britain, this time in a straight-set decision, 6-4, 7-5, to advance to round two of the Grade 1 Japan Open Jr Championships 2008 in Nagoya.
