World No. 22 Jessica Yang has been drawn to face Anna Orlik (ITF 56) of Belarus in the opening round of the girls' singles at The Junior Championships, Wimbledon. The winner of this match will go on to face either Milana Spremo of Serbia or second-seeded reigning Australian Open Jr Champion, Arantxa Rus, of Holland in the second round.
The Jessica Yang-Anna Orlik contest is the fifth scheduled match out on Court 16.
Although the Belarusian is currently ranked outside the Top-50, the 15-year-old did peak at a career-best No. 26 earlier this year.
Back in January, Orlik captured both singles and doubles titles at the Grade 2 Slovak Junior Indoor Tournament. The following week, she was a singles finalist and doubles winner at the Grade 1 Czech International Junior Indoor Championships.
In addition, she reached the round of 16 at last week's Grade 1 at Roehampton, as well as round of 32 showings at the most recent editions of the Roland Garros Junior Championships and the Orange Bowl.
Orlik first gained prominence when she won the G14U title at the Eddie Herr International Junior Championships two years ago. She also added the G12U singles title at the same event in 2005.
Former Hong Kong resident, Tara Moore (ITF 117, WTA 844), a wildcard entry, is in the same section of the draw as Jessica Yang. She is slated to face Zsofia Susanyi of Hungary first up.
Should they both manage to win their opening two matches, however, they will be headed for a round three clash with a place in the quarterfinals at stake.
In the doubles, Jessica Yang will team up with Kanyapat Narattana (ITF 77, WTA 906), who won the Thai National 18U girls' singles this year. She was also a member of Thailand's Junior Fed Cup Team that came first at the Asia/Oceania Qualifying in 2007 when they beat Australia in the final.
