 Earlier this week, over three hundred guests, league players, and award getters converged on the Jockey Club Lecture Theatre at Olympic House for the annual League Trophy Presentation bash. Silverwares were presented to the respective champions and runners-up of the SALONSIP Winter League 2005/2006, and this year's Summer, Veterans', and Mixed Doubles Leagues. Guest of honour was Ms. Louisa Tan, Senior Product Manager, Healthcare Consumer Health HK, of Edward Keller Ltd.
Also making their presence felt were HKTA President, Mr. Kenneth Tsui; HKTA Vice President, Mr. Henry Chan; LMC Chairman, Mr. Vincent Liang; LMC Members Mr. Simon Castley, Dr. Margaret Cheng, Mr. Frederick Keung, Mr. Derek Ling, Dr. Desmund Yip; and HKTA General Manager, Mrs. Janet Hardisty.
After a lacklustre season last year, CRC usurped SCAA as undisputed champions of the Men's Premier Division for 2006 when they captured Men's A+ titles of both winter and summer leagues to reassert their dominance.
Meanwhile, KCC continued their utter supremacy in the Ladies' Premier Division, doing away with the Winter and Summer League "double" for the third successive year. Both Polly Lam and Cindy Lee had been an integral part of the KCC team during that winning stretch. Cindy, a former full-time player with the HKSI, now works in the local entertainment industry but still finds time whenever tennis calls.
Just last week, she teamed up with Malcolm Swan to win the mixed doubles title at the SCAA Open 2006.
